Metta Sutta

Metta: Loving Kindness.

This is what should be done by one who is skilled in goodness
And who knows the path of peace:
Let them be able and upright, straightforward and gentle in speech,
Humble and not conceited, contented and easily satisfied.
Unburdened with duties and frugal in their ways.
Peaceful and calm, and wise and skilful,
not proud and demanding in nature.

Let them not do the slightest thing that the wise would later reprove.
They should wish:

In gladness and in safety
May all beings be at ease.
Whatever living beings there may be,
Whether they are weak or strong, omitting none,
The great or the mighty, medium, short or small,
The seen and the unseen,
Those living near and far away,
Those born and to-be-born,
May all beings be at ease!
Let none deceive another, or despise any being in any state,
Let none through anger or ill-will wish harm upon another.

Even as a mother protects with her life her child, her only child,
So with a boundless heart should one cherish all living beings,
Radiating kindness over the entire world,
Spreading upwards to the skies, and downwards to the depths,
Outwards and unbounded, freed from hatred and ill-will.

Whether standing or walking, seated or lying down,
Free from drowsiness, one should sustain this recollection.

Metta is one of the four mental state that a Buddhist must Cultivate, Metta is "Loving Kindness" the other 3 is "Compassion" "Sympathetic Joy" and "Equanimity" . Each of the 4 mental states corresponds to the "Four Immeasurables"

Effects of Thoughts

Why is it important to have compassion and loving kindness, and how can it affect others??

A word of kindness can save a life.
An act of compassion can bring peace and bliss to someone
A feeling of caring can reduce the suffering of one

What about non living?

Many had heard of Masaru Emoto

He had conducted experiments on water freezing. It is about how words and noises can affect it.

This is water formation when it was exposed recitation to Tibet Sutra.

Love and Appreciation

Thank You

This is not because of water understood human language, but this is from the energy of positive thoughts and negative thoughts. Every things , existence are connected and related to one another, therefore the energy of positive and negative can also affect non living material.

Think about it and see how one word of kindness, one act of compassion, one thought of bliss and peace can affect you and others. Oppositely think about how negative words, actions, and thoughts can harms others, and importantly how it could harms you.
